For the full walkthrough of what a sample list is for and how to use it, see
"[Your first 10 minutes with ListPlus](https://listplus.ai/en/help/getting-started/first-10-minutes)." This article is just the quick
reference.

**To look first — free, no account:** click **See the sample lists** on the
**Lists** page ("Just want to look around?"), on the empty Lists page ("Try a
sample list first") or at the top of the New List page — or search "sample"
with ⌘K. A page offers the sample lists, each with a short word on what it
shows; pick one. The first, **Contact list with checks**, opens **Sample contacts** — 247 business contacts
across 21 columns, with deliberate data gaps — and shows its checks right
away; they run live. This sample is shared by everyone, the same for all, and
**view only**: you can look around, filter and open the checks, but not edit,
fix or enrich. Opening it never copies anything into your workspace. A banner at the top says
"Sample list: Try the checks – edit and enrich in your own list."; **Create
your own list** in it takes you to the New List page. A few of its contacts
carry enrichment data (the small number at the end of the row), so you can
see what enrichment adds: real company data for some, and made-up sample data
for the made-up people.

**To see a flow — also free, no account:** the second, **GTM funnel**
(the list is called **Sample GTM funnel**), shows how records move through a list: leads come in from a form,
an AI research, a database search, a webhook, the Chrome extension and an
import; rules sort them into ICP tiers, enrichment runs only for the ones
that fit, and pipelines send the sales-ready ones to HubSpot and Slack. It
opens in the list's **Flow funnel** (switch **Columns / Flow** for the
Sankey chart) and is view only, like the first sample. The people and
companies in it are made up.

**To edit, fix and enrich:** click **Create your own list** and import your
own data (or start an empty list). The sample is for trying the checks.

## FAQ

### What is the sample list for?

It's a ready-made list with deliberate data gaps and errors, so you can see what the checks find before you import your own data. Editing and enriching work in your own list. See "[Your first 10 minutes with ListPlus](https://listplus.ai/en/help/getting-started/first-10-minutes)" for the full walkthrough.

### Which sample lists are available?

Two, both shared and view only — **See the sample lists** offers them: **Contact list with checks** (Sample contacts: 247 business contacts across 21 columns, with intentional gaps — to try the checks and filters) and **GTM funnel** (Sample GTM funnel: leads from many ways in, sorted by rules, enriched and delivered — it opens in the Flow funnel). The Flow funnel's own hints open the GTM funnel directly.

### Is a sample list different from starting an empty list?

Yes. The sample list is pre-filled, shared by everyone, view only and costs no credits; starting without data creates an empty list of your own from a template and costs no credits. See "[Starting without data: templates and column sets](https://listplus.ai/en/help/lists-and-import/empty-list-and-templates)" for that option.

### Can I delete a sample list once I'm done with it?

There's nothing to delete: the sample belongs to nobody's workspace and is the same for everyone.

### Why can't I edit or enrich the sample list?

The list that Open a sample list opens is shared by everyone and view only, so you can look around and see what the checks find without an account. The banner says "Sample list: Try the checks – edit and enrich in your own list."; click Create your own list there and import your data to edit, fix and enrich.

### Do I need to sign in to look at the sample list?

No. Open a sample list opens the shared, view-only sample with its checks without an account. You sign in only to create a list of your own, as with any other way of creating a list.

### Does a sample list count toward my plan's record limit?

No, the shared sample doesn't count toward any limit. See "What is the record limit?" for the limits of your own lists.

### Does opening the sample list copy it into my workspace?

No. **Open sample list** shows the one shared, read-only list; opening it never copies anything into your workspace. To try editing and enriching, click Create your own list and import your own data.

### What does "Create your own list" in the sample banner do?

It takes you to the New List page, where you import a file, connect a source or start an empty list. Nothing from the sample is carried over.
