The Watchlist (saved contacts)
Watchlist (formerly Saved, German formerly "Gemerkt") is where people wait for their list. Every profile you load in Person Search, Segment Search, AI Research or the Inbox is recorded automatically, and it lands on the Watchlist as soon as a lookup finds data, or when you file it or save it from the Inbox, so you can collect over days and then move a whole folder into a list at once. The Watchlist is deliberately not a CRM: there are no notes, statuses or deal stages.
The Watchlist belongs to the workspace: everyone in the workspace sees the same contacts and folders, and can file, enrich or remove them. If you work in several workspaces, each has its own Watchlist (see "What is a workspace?"). The page's address is listplus.ai/app/watchlist.
How people get here#
Loading a profile anywhere in the app is recorded automatically, and it lands on the Watchlist as soon as a lookup finds data, or when you file it or save it from the Inbox. In the Inbox, Save puts a recognised person on the Watchlist too, regardless of what any lookup found. Someone you already have is recognised by LinkedIn URL, email, or name and company, so nothing is saved twice — a richer result just updates the existing entry. The button that puts someone there is still called Save (Merken), and a person on the Watchlist shows the badge Saved (Gemerkt).
On the Watchlist versus just viewed#
Contacts you keep — saved, filed into a folder, or enriched (a profile where at least one lookup found data, including a cache hit) — are on the Watchlist and don't expire. Profiles where nothing was found are only kept briefly as viewed — for example a result loaded straight onto the page from a LinkedIn URL, email or domain with no match. They are not on the Watchlist: they show under Recently viewed (Zuletzt angesehen) at the bottom of the Watchlist page's left column. (The idle Person Search page has its own short Recently viewed list: the 6 contacts opened most recently, on the Watchlist or not.) Viewed entries drop out after 30 days of no further activity (up to 50 are kept per workspace). To keep one, click Save in its row's ⋯ menu or tick several and click Save in the selection bar — it moves onto the Watchlist and no longer expires.
The Watchlist page#
Click Watch in the left navigation to open the Watchlist; its header reads "Watchlist". As long as nothing is on the Watchlist yet, it shows a start page, "Keep interesting contacts in view", with the four ways contacts get there: From Person Search, From Segment Search, From AI Research and From the Inbox, each with a button that takes you there.
Once something is on it, the page has its own left column next to a table. From top to bottom:
- News — what the alerts found, about people and companies, with one line per kind (Job change, LinkedIn posts, Job postings, Funding) to show only that kind. A kind nobody is watched for yet is shown greyed.
- People — every saved person; With alerts below it shows only the ones that have alerts.
- Companies — every company on the Watchlist, with With alerts below it (see "Companies on the Watchlist and company alerts").
- Folders, and Recently viewed at the bottom.
The page opens at News when there is news you haven't seen, otherwise at With alerts when you have alerts, otherwise at People. The folder column is open by default; you can drag it wider or narrower and collapse it (⌘⇧L / Ctrl+Shift+L, or click Watch in the left navigation again to reopen it), and on phones it becomes a side panel titled "Folders". The table shows contact, company, what's reachable (email, mobile, phone), where the person was found, the pipelines the contact went into, folder and when it was added. Add from a list in the page header of People puts the people of a list on the Watchlist — each once; rows that only name a company are left out. People added this way are kept in a light form (name, role, company, email, LinkedIn profile), so a whole list of thousands fits; a workspace can hold up to 5,000 of them. As soon as you set an alert for such a person, file them in a folder, or send them to a list or a pipeline, they become a full saved contact with the data of their list row. Search with the field in the page header, sort by a click on a column's title and filter with the funnel beside it (for example by where a contact was found, or by with / without alert), and open a row to see the full profile again, free of charge. Open a folder or Recently viewed and the page header becomes a breadcrumb, Watchlist / [folder name], with Watchlist as the way back to People.
Folders#
The left column's FOLDERS section has a + button next to its title to create one (up to 50 total); until you make one, it shows the hint "Create a folder with '+', then drag entries into it." File people into a folder by dragging table rows onto it (a dragged selection carries every selected row) in the left column, or via a row's ⋯ menu or the bulk Move to folder action. Dropping rows on People takes them out of their folder. Each folder has its own ⋯ menu with Add to list (for everyone in it at once), Rename, and Delete folder — deleting a folder, or removing someone from one, keeps that person on the Watchlist; they stay under People, just no longer filed anywhere. Up to 300 people can be filed across all folders combined. Both limits (50 folders, 300 filed) apply per workspace, shared by all its members.
Getting people into a list or a pipeline#
Tick rows and click Add → Add to list, or use a folder's menu. Adding merges with rows that already exist in the list by email, LinkedIn URL, or name and company, filling empty cells instead of creating duplicates. The enrichment results and their sources travel along, so the list shows where each value came from. Add → Send to pipeline puts the selected people into one of the workspace's pipelines instead (see "Pipelines — send records on to your CRM, Slack, e-mail or API").
When you open a contact from the Watchlist that has been sent to a pipeline, the profile drawer shows an In pipelines section with each pipeline's state for that person (waiting, data check, sent, failed or removed) — see "Seeing which pipelines a record went through".
Enriching from the Watchlist#
Opening someone from the Watchlist always reloads them for free. If the basics (LinkedIn profile and company profile, which cost credits) haven't been loaded yet, click Load in the profile drawer; add-on cards for a verified email, phone or mobile number run only when you click them and show their price first. The result is saved in place, so the data is there when the person moves into a list.
Keeping people on the Watchlist costs no credits. Only alerts you set on contacts (next section) cost credits — per contact and month, renewed monthly until you stop them. All prices are in "Price list: what every action costs".
Alerts on contacts#
The Watchlist can also keep an eye on people for you. Tick contacts on the Watchlist page and click Set alert (bell icon), or click Set alert in the Alerts box at the top of a saved contact's detail. The Set alerts dialog opens; ListPlus then checks the contacts regularly and reports what changed. Under What to watch two alerts are available, each billed per contact and month:
- Job change — reports a new company, a new role, or that the person left the company.
- New LinkedIn posts — reports the person's own posts, at most 3 per check.
How often. Under Check frequency you choose Weekly or Daily for the contact. Daily pays off when you want to react fast, for example to a new post.
Both alerts cost credits per contact and month, and a daily check costs more than a weekly one; the prices are in "Price list: what every action costs".
The foot of the dialog shows the sum per month and how many alerts your plan has left. The first check runs within about 6 hours of starting. The first month is charged when you click Set alerts, then monthly from the workspace owner's balance. Switching a contact from weekly to daily during a paid month charges the difference and brings the next check forward to within a day; switching back to weekly gives no refund, the lower price applies from the next renewal. If the balance can't cover a renewal, the alerts pause ("Paused – no credits") until there are credits again. Stop alerts ends the checks without a refund for the current month; the contact stays on the Watchlist. Each plan caps how many contacts of a workspace can have alerts: Basic 100, Pro 1,000, Premium 5,000.
With several contacts selected, the dialog starts on Keep when some of them already have alerts: each keeps its own frequency unless you pick Weekly or Daily for all of them.
A contact without a LinkedIn URL is looked up for free; if no profile is found, the contact waits ("LinkedIn missing") and is not billed.
Reported vs. held back. A job change is reported only when ListPlus is sure. Doubtful changes appear as Held back – not certain enough with the reason — a new company without a LinkedIn page, a side role (board, advisor, investor, part-time), self-employed, a new job that began long before the old one ended, a profile with very few connections, or no title for the new job — and are applied only when you click Take it over anyway. "Left the company" is reported only after two empty checks in a row.
Send news to a pipeline. In the alert dialog you can pick a pipeline under Send news to: a contact with news then goes into that pipeline with the new company and title — for example to Slack or your CRM. Held changes go there only once you take them over.
The bell. Every row of People and Companies has a bell in the Alerts column: grey when nothing is watched, violet when alerts are running (amber when they wait, for example for credits), with a dot while there is news you haven't seen. Click it to set an alert, or to see what is watched, change it or stop it. The column's filter narrows the list to entries with or without an alert. For companies the bell sets the alert on their job postings and funding rounds (see "Companies on the Watchlist and company alerts").
The Alerts box. A saved contact's detail shows an Alerts box at the top. A pill says where the alert stands: On, Waiting (with the reason, for example "Paused – no credits" or "LinkedIn missing") or Not set. With alerts on you see what is watched, the frequency, the next check, the pipeline the news goes to, and below that the news found so far. Change opens the dialog again; Stop alerts is in the ⋯ menu next to it.
When alerts are switched off. If the owner has switched off the monitoring of people in the workspace policy, the dialog shows "People monitoring is off in this workspace" and what would be available, and nothing can be set. The owner switches it on under Settings → Privacy & compliance → Workspace policy.
The "With alerts" view. In the left column of the Watchlist page, With alerts below People lists every contact that has alerts. Its table shows the Checks column (which alerts), a small number beside it for how often they are checked (7 = weekly, 1 = daily), the Latest news and the Next check; "Check is due" means the check runs with the next hourly round. The Watchlist icon in the left navigation turns violet when contacts have news you haven't seen yet; clicking it opens News, where Mark all as seen clears the badge. In With alerts, With news filters to the contacts with unseen news.
Companies on the Watchlist#
People and companies are kept apart: Companies in the left column lists every company on the Watchlist, each once, by its domain. A company you save from a search is put there automatically; Watch company in a contact's ⋯ menu and Add from a list in the Companies view add more. Companies can have alerts of their own — on new job postings and funding rounds — and go into a pipeline as company records. All of that is in "Companies on the Watchlist and company alerts".
FAQ#
What is the Watchlist?#
The Watchlist (formerly called Saved, German "Gemerkt") is the holding place for people you found and want to keep — from Person Search, Segment Search, AI Research or the Inbox. You collect there, organise in folders, enrich if needed, and move people into a list or a pipeline when ready. It's not a CRM: no notes, statuses or deal stages.
How do I save a contact to my watchlist?#
Open the person's profile anywhere in the app: once a lookup finds data, they're on the Watchlist automatically. To keep someone regardless, choose a folder under Save in … in the profile drawer's header, tick them in the Inbox and click Save, or click Save on their row under Recently viewed on the Watchlist page. Profiles loaded from a bare email or domain have no Save in … button, so save or file them from the Watchlist page instead.
Why did a contact disappear from my watchlist?#
Only contacts you keep — saved, filed, or enriched with a lookup that found data — are on the Watchlist. A profile where nothing was found (viewed only) shows under Recently viewed at the bottom of the Watchlist page's left column and drops out after 30 days of no activity. Click Save on it there to put it on the Watchlist, where it no longer expires.
How do I organise contacts on my watchlist?#
Create folders (up to 50) with the + next to "Folders" in the Watchlist page's left column, or from Save in … → New folder … in the profile drawer. Drag table rows (or a whole selection) onto a folder, or use a row's ⋯ menu. A folder's own ⋯ menu offers Add to list, Rename and Delete folder any time — deleting one keeps the people on the Watchlist, it just unfiles them.
How do I move contacts from my watchlist into a list?#
On the Watchlist page, tick rows and click Add → Add to list, or open a folder's menu and choose Add to list for everyone in it. Pick an existing list or create a new one; people already in that list are matched by email, LinkedIn URL, or name and company and merged instead of duplicated.
Are contacts saved twice if I find them again?#
No. ListPlus recognises the same person by LinkedIn URL, email, or name and company and updates the existing Watchlist entry with the richer result instead of creating a second one.
Can I enrich a contact directly from the Watchlist?#
Yes. Open the person and use the profile drawer: load the basics if they aren't loaded yet (they cost credits), reveal a verified email, phone or mobile number, or run other add-ons — each shows its price before it runs. The Watchlist entry is updated in place, so the data travels with the person into a list.
Can I export my watchlist to a file?#
Not directly — there's no export button on the Watchlist page. Add the people to a list first, then export the list as CSV or Excel.
Where are folders and Recently viewed, and how do I delete a contact from the Watchlist?#
Folders live in the Watchlist page's own left column, under the "FOLDERS" title with its own + button, with Recently viewed at the bottom; the column can be collapsed (⌘⇧L / Ctrl+Shift+L, or click Watch in the left navigation again to reopen it), and on phones it's a side panel titled "Folders". The idle Person Search page also shows a short Recently viewed list of the last 6 contacts you opened, on the Watchlist or not. To delete a contact, use Delete in its row's ⋯ menu on the Watchlist page; it removes right away, with no confirmation step.
Where did "Saved" go — why is it called Watchlist now?#
Saved (German "Gemerkt", Spanish "Guardados") was renamed to Watchlist in all languages; it's the same place with the same contacts, now at listplus.ai/app/watchlist. The button that puts someone there is still called Save (Merken), Open a folder and the header becomes a breadcrumb, Watchlist / [folder name], so Watchlist is your way back to "All".
What do News, People and Companies mean in the Watchlist's left column?#
News shows what the alerts found, with a line per kind such as Job change. People lists every saved person and Companies every company on the Watchlist; With alerts below each shows only the ones that are watched. Folders are below.
Can my colleagues see my watchlist?#
Yes. The Watchlist belongs to the workspace, so every member sees the same contacts and folders and can file, enrich or remove them. If you work in several workspaces, each one has its own Watchlist; switch workspaces to see the other one.
Why is my Watchlist page empty or showing a start page?#
As long as nothing is on the Watchlist in the current workspace, the page shows the start page "Keep interesting contacts in view" with four ways to add contacts: from Person Search, Segment Search, AI Research or the Inbox. If you expected contacts there, check that you're in the right workspace, because each workspace has its own Watchlist.
Where do I see whether a contact on my watchlist was sent to a pipeline?#
Open the contact from the Watchlist: if it has been sent to a pipeline, the profile drawer shows an "In pipelines" section with each pipeline's state (waiting, data check, sent, failed or removed) and the date. Click a row to open that pipeline; the section is hidden when there's nothing to show.
How do I set an alert for job changes or new posts of a contact?#
On the Watchlist page, click the grey bell in a contact's row (or tick several contacts and click Set alert), then choose Job change (new company, new role, left the company) and/or New LinkedIn posts (at most 3 posts reported per check) and how often to check: Weekly or Daily. The first check runs within about 6 hours; news shows under News in the left column, and the Watchlist icon turns violet while there is news you haven't seen.
What does an alert on a contact cost, and when is it charged?#
Alerts cost credits per contact and month, and daily checks cost more than weekly ones; the exact prices are in "Price list: what every action costs". The first month is charged when you set the alert, then monthly from the workspace owner's balance; if the balance can't cover a renewal, the alerts pause until credits are available. Keeping people on the Watchlist without alerts costs no credits.
Can alerts check daily instead of weekly?#
Yes. In the alert dialog choose Daily under "Check frequency"; it applies to all alerts of that contact and costs more credits a month than weekly checks (see "Price list: what every action costs"). Switching from weekly to daily in a paid month charges the difference and brings the next check forward to within a day; switching back gives no refund, the lower price applies from the next renewal.
For how many contacts can I set alerts?#
Per workspace: 100 contacts on Basic, 1,000 on Pro and 5,000 on Premium. The alert dialog shows how many are left; above the cap you need to stop alerts on some contacts or upgrade.
What if a contact with an alert has no LinkedIn URL?#
ListPlus looks the profile up for free when you set the alert. If none is found, the contact waits with the note "LinkedIn missing" and is not billed until a profile is there.
Why is a job change shown as "Held back – not certain enough"?#
ListPlus reports a change only when it's sure; doubtful ones are held with the reason — a new company without a LinkedIn page, a side role (board, advisor, investor, part-time), self-employed, a new job that began long before the old one ended, very few connections, or no title for the new job. Click "Take it over anyway" to apply it; "Left the company" is reported only after two empty checks in a row.
Can contacts with alert news go straight into a pipeline?#
Yes. In the alert dialog pick a pipeline under "Send news to": a contact with news goes into it with the new company and title, for example to Slack or your CRM; held changes go there only once you take them over.
How do I stop the alerts on a contact?#
Open With alerts below People in the left column of the Watchlist page, select the contact and click Stop alerts. The checks end without a refund for the current month, and the contact stays on your Watchlist.
What does the violet Watchlist icon mean?#
Contacts with alerts have news you haven't seen yet. Click the icon to open News in the left column; Mark all as seen clears the badge.
What does "Check is due" mean in the Next check column?#
The planned time has come and the check runs with the next hourly round. Nothing is charged for the wait; the result appears under Latest news once the check has run.
