Folders and list management

Updated Markdown

Rename, duplicate, delete and group your lists — all from the Home page (where your lists live) or the folder/list tree in the Lists view, opened from its own rail icon. Lists and folders belong to the active workspace and are shared with all its members: every member can open, edit and rename a list, while duplicating, deleting and moving lists into folders is for the workspace's owners and admins (see "Workspace roles and permissions"). Folders were called projects before.

Rename a list#

Open the list and click the Set up icon (the two sliders next to the list's name): the Overview starts with List name and Description — change them and click Save. The quick way: click the list's name at the top of the screen — it turns into a text field; press Enter or click the checkmark to save, or the ✕ to cancel. From Home or the tree, a list's ⋯ menu → List Settings... opens the list with that same Overview.

Duplicate a list#

On Home or in the Lists view's tree, open a list's ⋯ menu and choose Duplicate. This makes a full, independent copy — including any enrichment data and tags already on the rows — at no credit cost. Only owners and admins of the workspace see Duplicate. The copy gets the same name with a number added, for example "Leads (2)", lands in the same workspace (so every member sees it) and is not in any folder; a toast confirms it as "List duplicated as '...'". Duplicating is blocked if it would push the workspace owner over their plan's record limit — see "Record limit".

Delete a list#

If you are an owner or admin of the workspace, choose Delete list from the same ⋯ menu and confirm with Yes, delete. The list is deleted for every member of the workspace. This is permanent — see "Deleting lists, contacts, and your account" for exactly what happens and what else you can delete.

Folders: grouping your lists#

A folder is a place for related lists — for example everything for one campaign or client (see "Navigation and glossary" for the short definition). Create one with the + at the top of the Lists panel → New folder: type a name ("Folder name…") and click Create folder. On Home, a list's ⋯ menu → Move to folder → New folder creates a folder and moves the list into it; the new folder's card opens with its name ready to edit. On Home, folders appear as cards in front of your lists. The tree is the same one shown with no list open and, once opened with Show list tree, next to an open list, so you can create, rename and delete folders without leaving the list you're working in. Grouping lists in a folder doesn't merge their data, change ownership or affect the record limit — each list still behaves on its own. Any signed-in workspace member can create, rename or delete a folder; folders belong to the workspace, so every member sees the same ones.

Move a list into a folder by dragging its card onto the folder's card on Home, dragging it onto the folder in the Lists panel/tree, or from the list's ⋯ menu on Home via Move to folder (for owners and admins of the workspace — dragging a list also needs that permission). A list can only be in one folder at a time, so moving it into a new folder takes it out of the old one. To take a list out of its folder, drag it out of the folder onto the lists below the folders in the tree, or use Move to folder → Remove from folder on Home; a failed drag shows "Could not move the list." A folder can be renamed from its own ⋯ menu → Rename, in either location. Deleting a folder (its own ⋯ menu → Delete folder) keeps its lists exactly as they are, just without a folder: on Home this happens immediately with no confirmation, while the Lists panel/tree asks you to confirm first and names the folder.

Moving a list to another workspace#

There is no move between workspaces. To take a list's data into another workspace, export it (for example as CSV or Excel) from the list's ⋯ menu, switch to the other workspace and import the file there as a new list (a file import, which costs credits). Delete the original afterwards if you no longer need it.

FAQ#

How do I rename, duplicate or delete a list?#

To rename a list, open it and either click its name at the top — it becomes editable; press Enter or the checkmark to save — or open Set up (the two sliders next to the name, or List Settings in the list's ⋯ menu), where the Overview has List name and Description (every workspace member can rename). Owners and admins of the workspace also see Duplicate in the "..." menu on the list's card on Home or in the Lists view's tree, for a free, independent copy including its enrichment data, and Delete list to delete it permanently for everyone. See "Deleting lists, contacts, and your account" for the full flow.

Why can't I duplicate, delete or move a list?#

Duplicate, Delete list and Move to folder are only shown to owners and admins of the workspace; members can open, edit, enrich and rename lists but not restructure them. Ask an owner or admin to do it, or to make you an admin. See "Workspace roles and permissions" for the full overview.

How do I create a folder (project) and add lists to it?#

Click the "+" at the top of the Lists panel, choose New folder, type a name and click Create folder — or, on Home, open a list's "..." menu → Move to folder → New folder, which creates the folder and moves the list into it. Add more lists by dragging their cards onto the folder's card or folder in the tree, or with Move to folder in a list's "..." menu on Home.

Can I create, rename or delete a folder while I'm inside a list?#

Yes — open the Lists panel with "Show list tree" (or ⌘⇧L) next to your open list; its "+" → New folder, and each folder's own "..." menu, work the same as on Home. Any signed-in workspace member can manage folders this way, not just owners and admins.

Can a list be in more than one folder?#

No — a list belongs to at most one folder at a time. Moving it into a different folder automatically takes it out of the one it was in.

How do I take a list out of a folder without deleting it?#

Open the list's "..." menu on Home, go to Move to folder, and choose Remove from folder — or drag it out of the folder onto the lists below the folders in the Lists view's tree. The list itself is untouched — it just has no folder any more.

What happens to my lists if I delete a folder?#

Nothing happens to the lists themselves — deleting a folder (from its own "..." menu → Delete folder) only removes the folder; its lists stay exactly as they were, just without a folder. On Home this happens immediately with no confirmation; in the Lists panel/tree it asks you to confirm first.
