Deleting lists, contacts, and your account
You can delete a list, a contact on the Watchlist, a folder, an Inbox (Eingang) entry, an AI Research run or a whole workspace yourself, right in the app, at any time. Lists, the Watchlist, the Inbox and research runs are shared in your workspace, so deleting something removes it for everyone in it. Deleting your whole account is different and far more sweeping: the Delete account button in Settings → Profile & sign-in deletes your account together with all of your data in one step, with nothing left for support to finish afterwards — and there's no way to undo it, so export anything you want to keep first (see "Cancel, downgrade and leave").
Delete a list#
The owner and admins of the workspace can delete a list: choose Delete list from the ⋯ menu on the list's card on Home or next to the list in the list tree of the Lists view, then confirm with Yes, delete. Deleting a list is immediate and permanent: there's no trash and no recovery, and it disappears for everyone in the workspace. Members can't delete lists; ask an admin or the owner.
Remove a contact from the Watchlist or delete a folder#
On the Watchlist page (formerly Saved), open the contact's row ⋯ menu and choose Delete — it's removed right away, with no confirmation step. Folders live in the Watchlist page's own left column (a drawer on phones): open a folder's ⋯ menu → Delete folder and confirm. Deleting a folder, or removing a person from one, doesn't delete the contact — they stay on the Watchlist, just unfiled from that folder, so they're not subject to the 30-day "recently viewed" cleanup (see "Where is my data stored?").
Inbox: Done vs. Delete#
Marking an Inbox entry Done moves it from Collected (All) to Done — it isn't deleted and still expires after 14 days like any untouched entry. To remove an entry immediately, hover it, click the trash icon and confirm Delete — this deletes it right away, before the 14-day window. Saving a contact from an entry or adding it to a list keeps that contact regardless of what you do with the entry.
Delete an AI Research run#
Click the × on the run in the research panel and confirm Delete. The run and its matches are permanently removed.
API connections and connected accounts#
To remove a list's API/MCP connection, open the list's Automation panel, go to Permissions, click Delete API Endpoint and confirm with Delete. The URL stops working immediately and any service using it loses access. To disconnect a connected CRM or Google Sheets account, see "Connecting a CRM, spreadsheet or other app".
Delete a workspace#
The owner can delete a whole workspace with all its lists, the Watchlist, Inbox, research runs, pipelines and connections: workspace menu (workspace name on Home) → Workspace settings → Danger zone → Delete workspace, then type the workspace name and click Delete permanently. Your credits and plan are not affected. See "Leave, remove, transfer or delete a workspace" for the details.
Deleting your account#
Settings → Profile & sign-in has a Delete account button that deletes your account and your data together, in one step — there's no separate request to support, and no undo. Above the button, a note warns that deleting your account also deletes every workspace you own, with all lists and data, for their members too — and names those workspaces ("Your workspaces: …"). Deleting your account removes:
- Every workspace you own, with everything in it — lists, Watchlist, Inbox, research runs, pipelines, API connections and connected accounts. Other members of those workspaces lose access; the data itself is gone, not handed to anyone.
- Your own membership in workspaces owned by someone else — you leave them, but what you created there (lists, pipelines, research runs, anything you added) stays with that workspace for its owner and other members.
- Your personal data: your profile and the accounts you personally connected (CRM/Sheets logins, etc.).
- Your credits — any remaining balance is gone with the account and isn't refunded.
- Your subscription, if you have one: it's cancelled immediately, so nothing further is charged.
The deletion starts as soon as you confirm and runs in the background, so your data disappears shortly afterwards. If a run is interrupted, it is picked up again automatically (every 30 minutes) until everything is deleted — nothing is left half-done.
If colleagues work in a workspace you own, transfer it to one of them first (workspace menu → Workspace settings → Transfer ownership) — once you delete your account, that workspace and its data are gone for everyone. Export anything you want to keep first (open a list's ⋯ menu → Export Data; see "Take your data with you before you leave" in "Cancel, downgrade and leave"). Your invoices are kept at Stripe and Link for legal record-keeping even after your account is deleted; for a copy, look in your emails from Link, at link.com, or contact support@listplus.ai. A Link account you created when paying belongs to Link and isn't deleted with your ListPlus account — ask Link to delete it.

FAQ#
How do I delete my account and my data?#
Open Settings → Profile & sign-in and use the Delete account button — it deletes your account and all of your data together, in one step, with no separate request to support needed. If colleagues work in a workspace you own, transfer it to one of them first, since that workspace is deleted along with everything in it. You can also delete individual lists, saved contacts, folders, Inbox entries and whole workspaces yourself at any time without deleting your whole account.
What exactly does the "Delete account" button in Settings delete?#
Everything: every workspace you own and all its lists, Watchlist, Inbox, research runs and pipelines, your membership in any workspace you don't own (what you created there stays with that workspace), your profile and the connected accounts you added. An active subscription is cancelled immediately, so nothing more is charged; your Stripe invoices are kept at Stripe for legal retention.
How do I delete a list, and can I undo it?#
The workspace owner and admins can: "..." menu → Delete list → Yes, delete, on the list's card on Home or in the list tree of the Lists view. Deleting a list is permanent for everyone in the workspace, with no undo and no trash. Members can't delete lists, so ask an admin or the owner.
How do I remove a contact from my watchlist?#
Open the contact's row "..." menu on the Watchlist page and choose Delete — it's removed immediately, with no confirmation step. This doesn't affect any list you already added that contact to.
If I delete a folder on the Watchlist, are the contacts in it deleted too?#
No. Deleting a folder only removes the folder — the people in it stay on the Watchlist, they're just no longer filed anywhere, so they still show under "All" and don't fall back into the 30-day "recently viewed" cleanup.
What's the difference between marking an Inbox entry Done and deleting it?#
Done moves the entry from "Collected" (All) to "Done" — it still expires automatically after 14 days like any Inbox entry, same as if you'd done nothing. Delete (the trash icon on the entry) removes it immediately instead of waiting for that window. Either way, any contact you already saved or added to a list from that entry is unaffected.
Can I delete an AI Research run?#
Yes — click the × on the run in the research panel and confirm Delete. The run and its matches are permanently removed.
How do I delete a list's API connection or token?#
Open the list's Automation panel, go to Permissions, click Delete API Endpoint and confirm with Delete. The URL stops working immediately and any service using it loses access.
Is deleting my account instant, and can I undo it?#
Clicking Delete account in Settings starts the deletion right away and it runs in the background, so your workspaces, lists and other data disappear shortly after; if it's interrupted, it's resumed automatically every 30 minutes until everything is deleted. There's no undo once it's started, so export anything you want to keep first.
What happens to a workspace I own if I delete my account?#
It's deleted completely, along with every list, Watchlist contact, Inbox entry, research run and pipeline in it — other members lose access, the data isn't transferred to anyone. Transfer ownership to a colleague first (workspace menu → Workspace settings → Transfer ownership) if you want that workspace to continue.
What happens to workspaces I'm just a member of, not the owner?#
You simply leave them — your own membership ends, but the lists, pipelines and anything else you created or contributed there stays with that workspace for its owner and the remaining members, exactly as if you'd left it yourself.
What happens to my remaining credits if I delete my account?#
They're deleted with your account and aren't refunded, so use them up first if you want to. The Delete account button can't be undone.
