Enrichment runs: progress, limits and stopped runs
A run works on the server#
An enrichment of selected rows or of the whole list is a run: ListPlus takes the rows in small groups, asks the provider, and writes each result into the empty cells of its row as soon as it arrives. The rows show a running ring until they are done. The run does not depend on your browser — close the tab, switch lists or shut the laptop, and it carries on; when you come back, the rows that are finished are filled and the rest still show their ring. There is no "Fill empty cells?" prompt for a run: the fill rule is "only empty cells", so a value that is already there is never overwritten. See "How enrichment works".
Watching a run#
While a run is going, a small pill appears at the top of the screen showing how many tasks are running or done; click it to expand a panel with a progress bar (completed / total) for each run and a Stop button. When it finishes it shows how many records were enriched (and how many came from the cache), how many found nothing ("not found", in grey — a miss is not an error), errors in red only when a provider failed, and the credits used. A job from the selection bar reads "Enrichment · step N" while it runs, because it works in steps (see "Enrich selected rows"). The panel lists the runs started in this browser session; after a reload or on a colleague's screen it is empty, but the run itself goes on — the filled cells and the running rings come from the server. FullEnrich lookups are sent to the provider in bulk and collected a little later, so a large list can take a few minutes before those rows fill.
The 5,000-lookup limit#
A single run can enrich up to 5,000 lookups (distinct emails, domains or profiles; rows sharing a value count once). A larger selection is split into several runs automatically, each shown in the task indicator. This limit is per run, not per list or per day — you can start any number of runs one after another, and rows that are still busy in a running enrichment of the same kind are simply skipped by a new one.
When a run stops#
A run that cannot continue stops and says why in the task panel:
- Not enough credits — the balance no longer covers the next group. In a workspace every run spends the workspace owner's credits, and other members may be spending them at the same time, so the balance is checked before every group, not only at the start. Rows already enriched keep their results; the remaining rows aren't charged.
- The provider is not answering — the data provider returned only errors for a while (an outage, an invalid key on their side, or their quota is used up). ListPlus does not keep retrying blindly; click Continue a little later. If a provider's daily limit is reached, the run pauses until the provider's limit resets and then continues by itself.
- Accepted maximum reached — the run has spent the amount you accepted when you started it ("at most N cr"), and rows are left.
Nothing is lost when a run stops. Click Continue next to the stopped run in the task indicator, or start the same enrichment again on the same rows (or on the rows that are still empty): it continues with what is left, and rows that already have a result are served from the cache and not charged again — see "Continue a stopped enrichment" for what Continue does and when to start again instead. A run nobody works on for a while is picked up again when you open the list.
Caching: not all lookups are cached the same way#
Caching rules differ by data type — there's no single "7 or 30 days" rule for everything:
- LinkedIn profile and company lookups are reused for free if you repeat them within 30 days. See "LinkedIn data: find, fill and verify" for details.
- Company data by domain is served from ListPlus's own shared cache — once any ListPlus customer has looked up a domain, every customer's repeat lookup of that same domain is free, with no fixed expiry stated to users. See "Company data: by domain vs by name."
- Email verification results are reused for 7 days; verifying the same address again sooner reads from that cache instead of calling the provider again. See "Provider: Email verification" for that flow.
- Person lookups (Prospeo, FullEnrich) that returned data are reused for 7 days in your workspace — repeating them sooner doesn't charge again; lookups that found nothing are run again.
FAQ#
How do I see the progress of an enrichment run?#
A pill at the top of the screen expands to a progress bar (completed of total) and a Stop button for each run; at the end it shows records enriched, not found (grey, not an error), errors (red, only when a provider failed) and the credits used. Rows being worked on show a running ring. The panel lists only runs started in this browser session; after a reload it is empty, but the run goes on.
How many rows can I enrich in one run?#
Up to 5,000 lookups per run — distinct emails, domains or profiles, so rows that share the same value count once. A larger selection is split into several runs automatically, each shown in the task indicator.
Can I run several enrichments at the same time?#
Yes — for example one Company Lookup run and one email-finding run on the same list. If you start the same kind of enrichment again while a run is still working on some of the rows, those rows are skipped and the new run takes only the others.
Can I cancel an enrichment run partway through?#
Yes. Click the progress pill to expand it, then click Stop on the run you want to cancel; it then reads "Enrichment cancelled". Rows already processed before you stopped keep their results and their filled cells; the rest are left untouched and not charged.
Do I have to keep the list open while an enrichment runs?#
No. The run works on the server and fills the empty cells itself; you can close the tab or switch lists. When you come back, finished rows are filled and the rows still open show their ring; if the run stopped meanwhile, click Continue in the task indicator (or start the same enrichment again) — enriched rows are not charged twice.
How long are enrichment results cached?#
It depends on the lookup: your own LinkedIn profile and company lookups are reused for free within 30 days, company data by domain is often served free from ListPlus's company cache, email verification results are reused for 7 days, and person lookups (Prospeo, FullEnrich) that returned data are reused for 7 days within your workspace — a lookup that found nothing is simply run again.
Why did my enrichment stop with "not enough credits"?#
The credit balance ran out during the run: in a workspace, runs spend the workspace owner's credits, and other members may spend them at the same time. The run stops at that point, rows already enriched keep their results, and the remaining rows are not charged. After the owner tops up, click Continue in the task indicator (or start the same enrichment again) — it continues with the rows that are left, and rows that already have a result are not charged again.
What does "the provider is not answering" mean?#
The data provider behind the lookup returned only errors for a while — an outage, a problem with the key on their side, or their quota being used up — so ListPlus stopped the run instead of retrying blindly. Rows already done keep their results. Wait a little, then click Continue in the task indicator; it goes on with the rows that are left.
Why did my run stop at the "accepted maximum"?#
When you started the run you accepted a maximum ("at most N cr"). The run spent that amount and rows are still left. Click Continue to finish the open rows without that ceiling, or start the enrichment again on the remaining rows for a new maximum; rows already enriched are not charged again.
Why did my run stop without finishing?#
Look at the reason in the task panel: not enough credits, the provider not answering, or the accepted maximum reached. Closing your tab doesn't stop a run. Rows already processed keep their results; click Continue in the task indicator (or, if the run is no longer listed there, start the same enrichment again) for the rest — nothing is charged twice.
"These records are being enriched right now" — what does that mean?#
Another enrichment of the same kind is still working on those records, so a second one is not started. Wait until that run has finished (see the task indicator), then start yours again.
"Nothing to enrich" — why won't it start?#
Either the records already hold the fields you picked, or none of them has what a lookup needs to start from (for example an email, a domain, a LinkedIn URL, or a name plus company). Nothing is charged; add a starting point to the rows or pick other fields.
"Too many records for one enrichment" — what now?#
A selection above 5,000 lookups is normally split into several runs by itself, so this message is rare. If it appears, start the enrichment again. If it comes back, select a part of the records and enrich the rest in a second run.
"The enrichment could not start" — what can I do?#
This is the message for a start that failed for any other reason, for example a connection problem or an error on the server. An enrichment that did not start charged nothing, so try again; if it keeps failing, contact support with the list name and the enrichment you picked.
