Set up: what a list can do, and its settings
Set up (Einrichten) is the page where you see everything a list can do and change how it works. It opens as a full page over the open list; click Back to the list at the top to return.
Opening it#
Click the Set up icon in the list header — the two small sliders right next to the list's name (hover it to see "Set up"). Everyone who may edit the list has it. List Settings... opens the same page from the ⋯ menu inside the list, from the ⋯ menu of a list card on Home and from the ⋯ menu of a list in the Lists tree; from Home or the tree the list opens with its settings already on show.
Overview: "What this list can do"#
The start page begins with the list's List name and Description (change them and click Save). Below that it shows one card per capability, with what it is good for, its state in this list and one action:
- Getting data in — Form (Active, Paused or Not set up; the list's own form as a link or embedded in your website — see "List forms: collect contacts with your own form"), App events (how many, or Not set up; Connect an app), Webhook (Active, Paused or Not set up), AI research (opens AI Research with this list already chosen as the place the hits go) and Refresh automatically (Daily, Weekly or Off).
- Working — Statuses (how many the list has), Scoring (how many scores, or None yet; Create score opens the score wizard) and Columns (how many).
- Automating — Triggers (how many are active) and Agent API.
- Role & rules — Reference list (Active or Off; with a plan lock if your plan doesn't include reference lists).
A card that is already in use says Open; otherwise it names the first step, such as Set up, Create statuses or Create a trigger.
The sections#
The navigation on the left has the same groups (on a phone, a dropdown at the top):
- Overview
- Form — create and share the list's own form. See "List forms: collect contacts with your own form".
- App events — let a tool you already use (a form answer, a booking, a Slack message) add records to this list. See the App events article.
- Webhook — the list's own address for forms and tools: URL, status, setup guides, Send test, the optional Hold back checkboxes, Mapping and Recent calls. It costs no credits and works on every plan. See "List webhooks: receive records from forms and tools".
- Refresh automatically — for a list from HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Airtable, Notion, Attio or Stripe: reloads the list from its source Daily or Weekly and keeps your enrichments, tags and statuses; saved as soon as you pick a value. Every run costs credits per request to the source and needs the plan of that source (see the price list). For every other list the section only shows the note that no setting appears here. See "Reload: what's kept, what's lost".
- Statuses — add, rename, recolor or remove the list's statuses. See "Record statuses and the working view (Open / All)".
- Columns — per-column details, see below.
- Look — how the list looks, see below.
- Triggers and Agent API — these two are not pages of Set up: they close it and open the list's own Triggers panel or Automation panel. See "Triggers — hand records on automatically" and "Give an AI agent access to one list".
- Reference list — use the list as a lookup list (customers, competitors, partners, block). See "Reference lists (customers, competitors, partners, block)".
- Permissions — what working in this list allows, see below.
Permissions#
- Allow adding rows — lets people add new rows to the list.
- Allow deleting rows — lets people delete rows; see "Ignoring vs. deleting rows" for how that's different from ignoring.
- Allow row reordering — lets people drag rows into a new order. It turns on automatically, and can't be switched off, while Allow adding rows is on.
- In-cell enrichment — shows a small sparkle (wand) icon when you hover an empty cell that can be filled by a lookup; clicking it fills just that one cell: instantly and free if the value is already known, otherwise it opens a small window listing the ways to fill it, cheapest first. Turn it off here to stop it appearing.
Click Save at the bottom to keep the changes.
Adding, deleting and reordering rows#
Click New row in the status bar at the bottom of the grid to add one empty row. To reorder, drag a row by its first column — this only works when no column sort is currently applied, and not on a phone. For deleting rows, see "Ignoring vs. deleting rows."
Look#
Alternate row colors (striped background for even/odd rows), Show company favicon (small icon next to company names) and Show photo URLs as images (renders a photo URL cell as a circular thumbnail instead of text). Click Save to keep the changes.
Columns#
Click a column to expand its details: Title (the display name — see "Adding and managing columns" for renaming), a Required checkbox, Content Type and Data Type dropdowns, plus read-only details where they apply — a Value Format section showing the value patterns detected for that column, a lookup's option list, validation rules, and the AI's confidence score and reasoning from import. Click Apply Changes at the bottom to save any edits you made in this section.

FAQ#
How do I open a list's settings (Set up)?#
Click the Set up icon in the list header — the two sliders next to the list's name; everyone who may edit the list has it. It opens a full page over the list with an Overview and the sections Form, App events, Webhook, Refresh automatically, Statuses, Columns, Look, Reference list and Permissions; Back to the list closes it. The ⋯ menu's "List Settings..." item opens the same page.
Can I open a list's settings without opening the list first?#
Yes. Choose "List Settings..." in the ⋯ menu of a list card on Home or of a list in the Lists tree, and the list opens with its settings on show. Inside the list, use the Set up icon or the list's own ⋯ menu.
Where did the List Settings dialog with its tabs go?#
It is now the full-page view Set up, opened with the Set up icon next to the list's name or from the ⋯ menu as before. The former tabs are sections there: General is now Permissions (plus Refresh automatically as its own section), Layout is Look, Schema is Columns, and Statuses, Reference list and Webhook kept their names.
What does the Overview in Set up show?#
Under "What this list can do" it shows one card per capability, grouped as Getting data in (Form, App events, Webhook, AI research, Refresh automatically), Working (Statuses, Scoring, Columns), Automating (Triggers, Agent API) and Role & rules (Reference list). Each card shows the state in this list — for example Active, Paused, Not set up, Off or the number of statuses, columns or active triggers — and one action that takes you there.
Why do Triggers and Agent API in Set up take me back to the list?#
Because they keep their own panels in the list. Clicking Triggers or Agent API in Set up closes the page and opens the list's Triggers panel or its Automation panel, where you create triggers or set up agent access.
What can I control under Permissions?#
Whether people can add rows, delete rows, or reorder rows by dragging, plus whether the in-cell enrichment wand icon appears on empty cells; click Save at the bottom to keep those changes. You find it under Set up → Permissions.
How do I add a new row to my list?#
Click New row in the status bar at the bottom of the grid — it adds one empty row, as long as Allow adding rows is on for the list (Set up → Permissions).
How do I reorder rows?#
Drag a row by its first column into a new position. This only works while no column sort is applied and Allow row reordering is on under Set up → Permissions.
What is the wand icon that appears when I hover an empty cell?#
It's in-cell enrichment: clicking it fills just that one cell, either instantly from data you already have or through a small window that lists the lookups that can fill it, cheapest first. Turn it off under Set up → Permissions if you don't want it to appear.
What can I change under Columns in Set up?#
A column's title, whether it's required, its content type (e.g. Email, Phone) and its data type, plus read-only details like validation rules and the AI's confidence from import. Click Apply Changes to save.
Where do I turn on automatic refresh for a connected list?#
Under Set up → Refresh automatically, if the list comes from HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Airtable, Notion or Stripe: set it to Daily or Weekly, and it's saved right away; every run costs credits per request to the source and needs the plan that covers it. For any other list the section only shows a note that no setting appears here. See "Reload: what's kept, what's lost" for exactly what it does.
What is the Webhook section in Set up for?#
It gives the list its own webhook: click Create webhook and copy the URL into a form tool, Zapier, n8n or Make, and records sent there land in this list's columns. The same section shows the status, today's count, setup guides, the Hold back options, the field mapping and recent calls. It's free on every plan — see "List webhooks: receive records from forms and tools".
What's under Look in Set up?#
Alternate row colors (a striped background), showing a company favicon next to company names, and showing photo URL cells as circular thumbnail images. Click Save to keep the changes.
