Enrichment problems: nothing found, cells not filled, blocked, run stopped
Enrichment trouble is almost always one of four things: a lookup genuinely found nothing, it found data but a cell stayed empty, ListPlus refused to start because AI suggestions are open or edits could not be saved, or the run stopped before it was done. Each has its own full article — this page routes you to the right one.
A lookup found nothing#
If a run finished but returned no data for a row, see "Why did enrichment find nothing?" — it covers the usual reasons (no starting point, no provider match, a wrong or outdated identifier) and what to try next, plus which lookups charge credits even on a miss.
A lookup found data, but the cell is still empty#
First check the row: if it still shows the running ring, the run hasn't reached it yet — results are written into empty cells on the server as they arrive, and FullEnrich lookups can take a few minutes for a large list. A cell that already had a value keeps it; the found value is stored with the row and can be taken over from the record panel. Every lookup — the selection bar, the cell wand, the record panel, a check card — fills empty cells by itself; only an AI Analysis from the Enrich menu waits for the "Fill empty cells?" dialog. See "Fill empty cells with enrichment data" for both cases and for "Apply values" in the Enrich menu.
"There are open AI suggestions or changes that could not be saved"#
Your own edits never block an enrichment — they are written automatically before it starts. The Enrich menu only refuses while AI suggestions are still open or the list header shows Not saved, because the enrichment works with the stored data. You'll see: "There are open AI suggestions or changes that could not be saved. Resolve them first – the enrichment works with the stored data." Click Apply · N or Discard in the list header, or wait until the status shows Saved, then start the enrichment again. See "Saving is automatic: undo and AI suggestions".
A lookup failed with "switched off by the workspace owner"#
The workspace owner refused the data provider behind that lookup in the workspace policy (Settings → Privacy & compliance → Workspace policy), so every row of it fails and nothing is charged. Pick a lookup that uses another provider, or ask the owner to switch the provider back on.
The run stopped#
A run that cannot continue stops and names the reason in the task indicator at the top of the screen. Nothing is lost in any of these cases: rows already enriched keep their results and their filled cells, and the rows that are left are not charged. Click Continue next to the stopped run in the task indicator to go on with what is left; if the run is no longer listed there (after a reload, or on a colleague's screen), start the same enrichment again on the remaining rows — rows that already have a result are not charged twice.
- "Stopped: not enough credits" — the balance doesn't cover the next rows. If it was empty from the start, the run doesn't start at all: you see the credits window, or, as a member of someone else's workspace, "Balance empty – please ask … to top up" with the owner's name, because enrichment in a workspace spends the owner's credits (see "Credits, plan and limits in a workspace"). If it ran out while the run was going — other members may be spending the same credits — top up and click Continue.
- "Stopped: the provider is not answering" — the data provider behind the lookup returned only errors for a while: an outage on their side, a problem with the key, or their quota used up. ListPlus stops instead of retrying blindly. Wait a little and click Continue; if it stops the same way for hours, contact support with the list name and the enrichment you ran.
- "Stopped at the maximum you accepted" — the run spent the amount you accepted at the start ("at most N cr") and rows are left. Continue goes on without that ceiling; to set a new maximum instead, start the enrichment again on the remaining rows.
If the task indicator shows a wait instead of a stop, the provider's daily limit is reached; the run continues by itself at the time shown. If an enrichment refuses to start ("These records are being enriched right now", "Nothing to enrich", "The enrichment could not start" …), the meaning of each message is in "Enrichment runs: progress, limits and stopped runs", along with how runs work, and "Continue a stopped enrichment" for the Continue button next to a stopped run and what it keeps.

FAQ#
Why does every row fail with "switched off by the workspace owner"?#
The workspace owner switched off that lookup's data provider in the workspace policy (Settings → Privacy & compliance → Workspace policy), and nothing is charged for those rows. Use a lookup that goes through another provider, or ask the owner to switch it back on.
Why did my enrichment run find nothing for a row?#
See "Why did enrichment find nothing?" — it lists the usual causes (no starting point on the row, no match at the provider, a wrong or outdated identifier) and what to try next.
The cell is still empty even though enrichment said it found data — why?#
If the row still shows its running ring, the run hasn't written it yet — every lookup fills empty cells on the server by itself as results arrive. A cell that already had a value keeps it and the found value is stored with the row; only an AI Analysis from the Enrich menu waits for the "Fill empty cells?" dialog. To put stored values into cells, use "Apply values" in the Enrich menu (see "Fill empty cells with enrichment data").
Why does ListPlus say "There are open AI suggestions or changes that could not be saved"?#
The enrichment works with the stored data, so it won't start while AI suggestions are open or edits could not be saved. Click Apply · N or Discard in the list header, or wait until the save status shows Saved, then start the enrichment again. Your own edits never block it — they are written automatically before it starts.
I applied the suggestions and it still won't let me enrich — what now?#
Check the save status in the list header: if it shows a red "Not saved", the server can't be reached and ListPlus keeps retrying — wait until it shows Saved. If it stays blocked, reload the list; if the problem persists, contact support with the list name and what you clicked.
Does a lookup that finds nothing cost credits?#
E-mail and phone lookups don't — see "Why did enrichment find nothing?" for the lookups that charge for the attempt itself.
Do I need to save again after enrichment fills my cells?#
No. The cells a lookup fills are stored directly on the server, and the cells you confirm in the "Fill empty cells?" dialog after an AI Analysis are saved automatically too; ⌘Z / Ctrl+Z undoes a fill as one step. See "Fill empty cells with enrichment data".
My enrichment stopped with "not enough credits" — what now?#
The credit balance ran out during the run, so the remaining rows were not charged; in a workspace it's the owner's balance, which other members may be spending too. Once the balance is topped up (only the owner can do that for a workspace), click Continue next to the stopped run in the task indicator — or, if it is no longer listed there, start the same enrichment again; rows already enriched are not charged again.
What does "the provider is not answering" mean, and what do I do?#
The data provider returned only errors for a while (an outage, a key problem or a used-up quota on their side), so ListPlus stopped the run instead of retrying blindly; rows already done keep their results. Wait a little, then click Continue in the task indicator to go on with the rows that are left. If it keeps stopping for hours, contact support with the list name and the enrichment you ran.
Do I lose anything when a run stops and I continue it?#
No. Rows already enriched keep their results and filled cells, and rows that were not reached are not charged. Continue (or a new start of the same enrichment) takes only the rows that are left, and a row that already has a result is not charged again.
None of this matches my problem — what do I do?#
